Original 600 EX catalog pages including the SIS system and another new feature “Aero Brake levers” where the brake cables were ran internally next to the handle bars and wrapped up with the bar tape. the older style had the cables coming out of the top of the brake lever. These changes were soon adopted by all of the other componetry manufactures, Shimano had become the leader in the market, Campagnolo was nice (and expensive) but they were still using friction shifting and when they did introduce index shifting, Synchro it was extremely difficult to get it to work properly.
