Rigi Bici Corta Extra, down tube modification

RIGI already has a past: now it points to the future

A brand new version has been added to the RIGI Bici Corta line. A revolutionary modification that introduces a new profile to the frame, while accentuating all the advantages already achieved in the original design.
The modification was performed on the down tube, at the point closest to the front wheel. The tube in that section was curved to allow the front wheel to move back towards the seat tube, bringing it closer to the central point of the bottom bracket.
The innovation allowed the wheelbase to be reduced to only 89 centimeters. That is shorter by 4 centimeters than the original RIGI.
Naturally, it is not a novelty for its own sake or a useless aesthetic device. This modification affects the performance in racing conditions both on the track and on the road.
The bicycle that we call cortissimo (very short) boasts greater rigidity and compactness. It is therefore easier to control in corners and on descents, as well as eliminating swerving.
It also allows the cyclist to pedal while sitting and still retain the characteristics of riding out of the saddle - such as when climbing and sprinting. This is a more relaxed position that causes less fatigue.
To the above irrefutable advantages, we must add the lowering of the head tube by more than a centimeter. This allows the rider to assume a more aerodynamic position which helps in overcoming air resistance.
Through the aforementioned modifications, Giorgio Rinaldi has made the bicycle more competitive in time trial and closed circuit racing, as well as on road routes of varied elevation.
Regarding its mechanical structure, the frame is made entirely of polished stainless steel tubes.

A bicycle of such design must be appreciated for its advanced specifications. It should be tested, on the track and on the road, before being unfoundedly or hastily accused of shortcomings - an approach associated with the traditional concept of technology, one that has also been undergoing continuous mechanical corrections.
The new RIGI Bici Corta can be a revolution in track and hill climbing disciplines, offering better performance than that of a standard bicycle.

Chosen for time trials, closed circuits, and hill climbs.

    1. Greater agility.
    2. Less effort uphill.
    3. More stability in corners and on downhills.
